Portraiture is the art of creating a portrayal of a person, usually a drawing, painting, photo, mixed media, or sculpture. A great example of how people create portraits every day is taking selfies. We will explore how we can use selfies to create exciting and magical portraiture that students will be proud to share with family and friends. Students will explore drawing, painting, and mixed media, while learning a variety of portraiture techniques.

Let your creativity soar! Students will be given a choice each week of an art project to work on, or, they may continue a previous masterpiece. Styles and mediums will vary, but fun is guaranteed!

We will explore many different types of art in this fun class! Kids will learn new techniques and ways of creating with traditional art materials. Each class will explore new and different projects, so no Art Exploration class session is ever the same!
Fun with Cartooning, Ages 8-16, Wednesdays 5pm - 6:30pm, Oct. 23 - Dec. 4

Have you ever wanted to draw cartoon characters? Anyone can with a little practice! Learn the basics of character design, construction, shape language and more! Students can learn how to draw popular characters as well as characters of their own.
Adult Open Studio, 7pm - 9pm, Wednesdays Oct. 23* - Dec. 4

Explore the painting media of your choice – this is your studio time. Work will be supervised and help will be given at the student’s own level. Instructor and student will discuss an initial plan and the instructor will help facilitate the student’s creativity. The instructor will help the student to brainstorm and introduce new methods and ideas as possible choices prior to beginning artwork. Depending on the student’s level and needs, guidance will be given to the students to help them organize a well-thought-out plan. Consideration will be given to composition, color, texture, perspective, shadow, and light. Ideal for students working on a portfolio or needing professional studio time.

Enhance your drawings and paintings with mixed media techniques! This fun class will explore a variety of media including modeling paste, tape gauze, cardboard, art paper, glitter, sequins and more.
Watercolor, Pen & Ink for Adults, Fridays 10am - 12pm, Oct. 25* - Dec. 6

Learn to combine the fine textured detail of pen and ink drawings with the delicate, layered hues of watercolor. This mixed media form of drawing and painting is sure to inspire and intrigue! Students will learn on small canvases, then expand as they gain a better grasp of the medium.
