We will explore many different types of art in this fun class! Kids will learn new techniques and ways of creating with traditional art materials. Each project will be inspired by a different master artist, technique, or style. We teach different master artists and techniques in each session of this class, so no two sessions of this class are ever the same!

This class will meet for 5 sessions only. Students will learn how to break objects down into simple shapes and add shading to create textures and 3-D effects. We will also focus on proportions and perspective. Students will look at different drawing styles for inspiration in creating artworks. The first 3 weeks of the class will focus on drawing, and the last 3 weeks will focus on painting.

This class will meet for 5 sessions only. Give your artist the time they need to focus on what keeps their creativity ticking. Students can focus on their favorite drawing and painting styles and work on their own projects. We will help them sharpen their technique and skills while they create their own masterpieces!

This is art your kids will be able to wear all summer long! We will tie-dye all kinds of fun wearable art, such as t-shirts, socks, bandanas, tote bags, hats and scarves. We will learn different tie-dye skills and different patterns. Kids are welcome to bring in their own white cotton items to use. A blast for all ages!

Learn amazing mixed media techniques while painting on canvas. Use modeling paste, cardboard, plaster, plaster gauze, gloss mediums, etc. to create exciting visual masterpieces!

Enhance your child’s appreciation for nature’s beauty through both a camera lens and a paintbrush. We will take a walking field trip through downtown Long Grove to take photos and use them as subjects for our paintings. If possible, students should bring an iPad or smartphone for taking pictures. Students who do not bring a device can share with others.

Kids will make their very own art journal books and fill them with beautiful images, words, and works of art.  We will focus on composition and understanding aesthetics/design. Kids will use graphite, pastels, watercolor, mixed media, and acrylic paints to create beautiful books full of their artworks.
